MEET DEMETRIS E. THOMAS
Demetris E. Thomas is a native of Boston, Massachusetts, and the daughter of Jennie M. Thomas and the late Joseph M. Murrell.
She is a mother of two, an author, a gourmet chef, and a former educator. She is an inspiration to us all as a survivor of both cancer and domestic violence.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Human Services and a minor in Early Childhood Education from Springfield College. She was recognized as being a committed licensed Early Education teacher at several inner-city daycares and for Boston Public Schools. At Springfield College's Boston Campus School of Human Services, she was honored for being a serious student who set and maintained high standards throughout her course of study.

Raised in Saint Paul A.M.E (African Methodist Episcopal) Church, Cambridge, MA, she became the youngest president of the Youth Lay Organization under the leadership of her grandmother, the late Mary Elizabeth Brown, her aunt, the late Delia E. Thomas, and her mother, Jennie M. Thomas, who served on the board for many years as the President of the Lay Organization. With a heart for serving others at a young age, Demetris received awards from the A.M.E. Church, the New England Conference Lay Organization, her community, and other organizations.
She is the author of “Fallen Prey - No More The Conspiracy of Silence and A Rose is Still a Rose - Plucked out of Madness into God's Grace.” Sharing glimpses of her true life story and the ways she healed from trauma, exemplifying that she understands the journey, the way out, and how to safeguard against future abuse. While her recovery process was very complex, she did not give up on life as she embarked on the path of complete restoration via her spiritual journey. With God's guidance and love, she was able to heal.
In 2017, ChosenWarriorBride, LLC, was established with the hope of inspiring others with her stories and journey around the world, bringing empowerment, healing, and transformation to everyone. What happens to survivors when bad things happen to them? We become empowered and unashamed to tell our stories on our way to becoming better people.
